Track

Jared after winning the 300 hurdles. This was his last track meet and he did really well. He won the 300 hurdles, 400 meter dash, and I think the long jump, plus he placed in the high jump and the disc but I can't remember what he placed exactly.
This is Taylor up up in the sky. HA!

Here is my cousin Laken with my uncle Kendall and her mom, Shelley. Lake won the mile and the 800 meter dash. She is just like her daddy back in the day, with a lot of stamina. Congrats to Laken and Jared! By the way, Laken is twelve and in the 7th grade and Jared is 13 and in the 8th grade.

Mother's Day

We spent the day after church at Amber and Brian's cooking out and mingling with our family. We tried taking pictures during really harsh winds. There were times we would have to wait for the wind to die down before we could take a picture! It was really bad! Notice Tamra's skirt flying up in the last picture?! HA! It turned out to be a good day to get together even with all the wind. We were blessed to have everyone there and even more so that we had Papaw Martin standing right there with us. Just a week ago we were visiting him in the hospital.
I'm thankful for the people in my life.

Papaw Martin

My Papaw was admitted into ICU @ Lee Regional Friday afternoon due to his heart. They have his heart rate down and his O2 up so he is doing much better. He has to stay in ICU until Monday because his doctor doesn't do weekends. HA! Isn't that the truth. Anyway, he should be released on Monday but I will keep everyone updated. Please pray for my Papaw he is such a sweet man. I realize we can't keep our family members alive forever but wouldn't it be nice? Thank you for any and all prayers.

Clean bill of Health

Doctors have had me doing different tests to find out what is causing my dizzy spells, blurred vision, nausea, and the feeling of just being drained. My MRI, EEG, and Carotid ultrasound all came back normal. I also had a mamogram but that had nothing to do with my head. HA! But it came back normal as well.
When I went to the eye doctor he suggested that I had ocular migraines. He gave me a little pamplet on ocular migraines and I have researched it a little as well. My symptoms are very similar to the ocular migraine and just regular migraines. I never thought it could be mirgraines because I don't have sensitivity to light and my head doesn't hurt all that badly. It just looks like I have a different type of migraine. At least that is the diagnosis I will go with for now. SO, there is nothing they can do for me. I just have to live with it. It's really a terrible way to live. Makes me feel like I have a cloud over my head most of the time.
After researching this a little bit I found that basilar migraines are also similar to my symptoms so who knows what I really have? All I know is it drives me nuts! It makes me feel really bad and who wants to feel bad all the time? (not me)

tay's hair

Here's a better picture the day before Taylor got a hair cut. See how Mamaw likes this one. :)

random

Made Taylor take a picture to show Mamaw Stapleton he is growing his hair out. He has it behind his ears so it's actually long enough here to cover his ears. He has had a hair cut since this picture so it's not as short as it use to be but it's not as long as this picture. He has a dark background behind him but never the less I posted this one for her to see.

Tamra and Grayson sitting at Taylor's baseball game. Grayson's mommy was cooling off his hot dog so he was quite intent on getting his 'weenie' as he called it.

Lee High Baseball

Here Taylor is taking a peek at Grayson who just hollered, "Taylor!"
Set and ready on 3rd.

Looking for his pitch.
Fast as lightening. HA! It is so hard to get him in action at dusk with my camera. If you use a flash it is too dark and if you turn off the flash this happens. Oh well, it's the best I can do with what I have.

Youth Day

Taylor gets his first turkey of the season on Youth Day. He was proud of his kill.

Acquire The Fire ATF

Taylor headed to Winston/Salem North Caroline with the church Youth group friday morning. Our church Youth group have gone to ATF a few times but this is Taylor' s first time. I am curious to see how much he enjoyed his time in a different atmosphere. I have posted the ATF schedule at the bottom of this post. Looks like they have been pretty busy. Taylor actually called about 30 minutes ago and said they were just leaving to get something to eat. That was one long day drama, powerful worship, uplifting messages, and christian music. The group will be back in the early evening so please pray for a safe trip home.
Check out the acquire the fire website for more information on this great rally for youth.

Happy Easter!

This was Taylor's Easter basket.

Fun Expedition

Last Friday another worker and I took three brothers from Foster Care to Fun Expedition to let them visit with one another. Tamra was out of school so I took her with us. They all had a good time. The other worker and I? Well, they wore us out! HA! I think I would have been less tired if I had worked in the office all day! Shoo, I am getting old!

Lee High Baseball 08'

The JV Team played JI Burton at home on the 17th. Tay played 3rd base and he pitched the last inning. I can't remember the score but I do know we beat them. The next night the Varsity team played Cumberland, KY and we lost by a couple of points, it was just a scrimmage. Taylor plays on the Varsity team as well as the JV team this year! I think that makes about a total of 44 games not to mention little extra 'scrimmages' we have here and there! I was exhausted before so I can just imagine how I will be when baseball is over!! UGH!
By the way, I didn't take as many pictures of Taylor playing because I was trying to video tape! HA! I have a hard time doing both at the same time! I am only one person you know!
Tay has a Varsity game monday night at Coeburn but I probably won't make it! It is going to be really cold and Coeburn is too far for me to go on a work night! Tuesday he has a Varsity game at home to be played at two in the day! How stupid is that? Do these coaches not realize most parents are working at two in the day?

Catfish

Leon caught this catfish on his first fishing trip of the year. I have no idea what kind of catfish he said this was but I did hear catfish. I think he said it weighed 38lbs. Looks gross to me! I'm just curious where it is now because I never actually saw this thing with my eyes. I guess if it is somewhere close I will smell it! LOL!

This afternoon has brought some thunderstorms. It seems so strange to be hearing thunder when it was so cold two days ago. Weather can be so strange!

Friday, March 14, 2008

Taylor headed for a 4H training session for two days in Abingdon. He interviewed last Thursday for 4H Counselor and made it! He will now have to go through some training sessions before summer camp. I believe he was excited about going away for two days.

Snow

Here's our little bit of snow we received the morning of the 27th. Seems like it was enough somewhere to call school off. As the day went on we got a little bit more but not much.
There wasn't even enough to make snow cream! HA!

Lake Ontario

Here are some great pictures a family member sent me today of Lake Ontario. I thought they were so beautiful I had to share! I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I did.
