SOLD

This is our new door. On the door it says, "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brewer, Pennington Gap, Va". I tried to zoom in on the words but just got too aggravated! This photoshop stuff is for the birds sometimes!! Anyway, this is the front door to our new home.

It isn't set completely here but you get the idea!! The men were in the process of still moving it into place when I took this picture.

Both parts almost together. They had a bit of a problem during this process. It had to be pulled in twice before they could get it fixed properly. It was a bit scary. Looked like the front was going to flip forward which would have been a catastrophe! The pool sits in front of the house so it would have been a mess for sure. I was a little worried!
The front being moved onto our property.

It's here!!

This is the back part of the house. They are in process of bringing the rest of the home from Middlesboro. It should all be put together in a few hours.

This is the front of the back of the house. All you can see is the plastic that surrounds it.

The back of the house.

snow

Well, we caught a few snow flakes as they fell lastnight. You can see down at my yard where the snow has turned the dirt to white. I don't have a follow up picture but there was at least two inches on the ground this morning. School was cancelled so we have been trying to keep warm all day. Right now the temp is 26degrees! COLD!

Snowy sunday

Today has been very cold! Snow flurries have surrounded us most of the day. It never really accumulated to anything until around five o'clock. No one really thought it would stick when suddenly it began to get worse and worse. Leon and I tried to do some work but the wind was so bad I finally had to give up and come inside. Leon lasted a little longer than I. Mamaw made her way to church but with the amount of snow that was coming down the preacher let them out early. We were on our way to pick her up when she came down the road. The snow was just a little unexpected. The rest of the evening we all stayed inside and stayed warm. It is still snowing outside and we have yet to hear any news about school for tomorrow. Surely we will be on a two hour delay if not closed. I would say there is about two inches of snow on the ground right now and more coming down. Our home is suppose to be delivered monday but who knows now if they will be able to make it or not?? I will let everyone know when I find out.

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Here's Leon working on the perimeter for the new home. Today a man actually finished doing the footers for the home so now we have to wait on Edgewood Homes to call us to let us know when they will be delivering the home. Leon thinks it will be sat. or monday.

Here is what is left of Tamra's room and part of our back porch. They both had to be torn down and destroyed. What a mess we have to clean up!
Here is a picture of some of the work that has been done for our new home. For those of you who don't know my trailor use to set in front of where u see a pole to the left and where the piles of dirt sit. It ran right up against the red carport cover that you see at the far left. They moved our trailor where u see it now which is on part of our driveway and all of my front yard. It is slightly slanted. The new home will be sitting where our old home was only quite closer to the pool.

Mamaw's Cat

Okay, this took forever to download but here is a picture of my grandmothers cat. We recently had her put to sleep because of what the vet felt was cancer on her face. I will keep this picture posted long enough for my family to take a look at what she looked like and then I will delete it. Kind of grosses me out.

Update

Well, things haven't been going as smoothly as we thought. We are kind of at a stand still right now. Leon decided he was going to have some other people finish our footers. I think in the long run it was going to cost us more money and Leon may or may not have done it properly. The footers are the most important part of the home! Anyway, the men were suppose to be here sat. but didn't show up because of the weather report for sunday. Then he was suppose to show up yesterday but felt it was too wet. Today he was suppose to be here bright and early but because of some miscommunication with the price he won't be here till tomorrow! UGH! The guy has waited to where now it is so wet and nasty he is going to do nothing more than make a big mess!! IT is already somewhat muddy down there at the house but it will be tens times worse now! The house was suppose to be hear Thursday but now the date may be moved up till friday? We won't know for sure till tomorrow.
On another note I have been really sick! I came down with some kind of virus and thought I was going to die!! I threw up so hard my eye balls felt like they were going to pop out of my head! I have what looks like petechia around both of my eyes! I have never had that happen before! I look quite scary! I sure hope Mamaw doesn't get this! I don't know if she can handle it or not! It was really horrible!
Tamra was suppose to start basketball practice lastnight but I was so sick I couldn't take her. She will be able to be there tonight.
Last Sat. Jared's basketball team won their tournament coming in 1st place overall! It was a really great game! Jared has really improved this year. I could see a big difference in how he plays. This will be his last year in elementary school. Next year he will be at Thomas Walker high school.
Taylor is going to physical therapy over his knees and ankles. Mom had to pick him up yesterday because I was so ill. Today he starts conditioning for Lee High baseball. His games start in February, I believe!
I would post pictures but we have yet to find the cable for the camera! We are a bit disorganized!
Oh yeah! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MY AUNT DOROTHY!! Her birthday was yesterday!

I am able to get on the net! I haven't downloaded the recent pictures I have taken but I hope to do that tomorrow. We are well on our way to being able to move into our new home. We just found out today they are delivering our home on the 25th. We have men coming to finish up some work on the footers tomorrow. It is not suppose to rain but he said if the weather did happen to stop him he would be here monday morning. It feels good to have a date now! I have no idea at this time how long it will take after they bring the home but it shouldn't take too long. (we hope)
Life has been very chaotic for the past week! I barely know when I am coming and going. I feel like I am going to need a vacation soon. Vacation? Guess that won't be happening for awhile! HA!
Well, I will post some pictures tomorrow sometime. As usual I am exhausted right now and ready for bed! This is the latest I have been up all week.

Update on our new home. It looks like we will be moving out of our old trailer tomorrow, tuesday. They are coming to disconnect our electricity tomorrow unless my husband wakes up and decides he is going to disconnect our sewage and water. If that happens we will be leaving this evening. I won't know for sure for another two hours when he wakes up to go to work. Either way we are headed to my Mamaw Stapletons for a few weeks. We really hope it doesn't take an eternity for the work to be finished. As soon as they move this place then Leon can start work on the footers. He thinks that should take him two days so if all goes well they should be brining our new home next week. After that I am hoping it only takes them a week to finish. I plan to be supervising their work so they will be motivated to get it done!!! My neighbor had to wait a lot longer than they had planned when they moved their new home onto their property! It was a big mess! There were days when the workers would work half a day or not show up at all! I sure hope we don't run into those problems! They need to realize people are anxious to get into their new homes! I will make it clear to them we will be homeless until they get it finished! I will also let them know my husband can go off the deep end pretty easily so they better not make him unhappy! HA! (not kidding!!) Well, wish us luck! This will probably be my last post for awhile unless I figure out a way to use the internet while we are staying at Mamaw's.

Our first snow for 2007

I almost forgot to post these pictures. This was taken last tuesday, I believe. Here u can see the snow came down quite a bit this day. The kids were only in school for an hour and a half when they had to start dismissing. The roads were really bad! I was a little scared to drive even though I had four wheel drive!
Here is Taylor heading out to play in the snow!
Here's a picture of a female Cardinal. It was really hard to catch! Can you find her?? Too bad this picture is to the side! I didn't take the time to use photoshop.
Now here's a picture of a little fat Cardinal! HA! Looks like he was eating too much of the bird seed I had out for them! I tried my best to get good pictures of them but they act very nervous! There was a least 5 or 6 different Cardinals this day. They looked so pretty against the white snow.

Taylor

Here's Taylor doing what he does best. He got an XBOX 360 from his dad for Christmas and now he sits here playing and talking on his new game. If you will notice he has a little microphone coming from the right side of his face. He is actually talking to the person he is plaing! Isn't technology great? Also notice the major clutter all around him! As you can see we are in process of boxing up everything we can in order to move.

OUR NEW HOME (TO BE)

WELL, IT IS OFFICIAL. LEON AND I TOOK THE PLUNGE AND BOUGHT A NEW DOUBLE WIDE, MODULAR HOME! WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT! I JUST CALL IT A BIGGER HOME! HA! THIS IS A PICTURE OF THE HOME ON THE LOT SO IT ISN'T EVEN PUT TOGETHER BUT YOU CAN AT LEAST GET AN IDEA OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE! WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PACKING ALL OF OUR STUFF AND MOVING THINGS AROUND OUTSIDE OF OUR HOME. WE PLAN TO PUT THE NEW HOME EXACTLY WHERE OUR TRAILER SITS NOW. I DREAD THE WHOLE 'MOVING' THING BUT IN THE END IT WILL BE WORTH IT! RIGHT???? AFTER LOOKING AND LOOKING ALL OVER LEE COUNTY FOR A NEW HOME I FINALLY JUST DECIDED TO CONTINUE LIVING WHERE WE ARE NOW. I HATE THE THOUGHT OF LEAVING MY MAMAW RIGHT NOW SO I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS THE BEST DECISION WE COULD MAKE AT THE PRESENT TIME. OUR CURRENT HOME IS FALLING APART AND WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF ROOM! I WAS REALLY DESPERATE TO DO SOMETHING AND DO IT QUICK! WE GOT A REALLY GOOD DEAL AND COULDN'T LET IT SLIP BY! I AM A BIT DISAPPOINTED HOWEVER BECAUSE IT WASN'T THE EXACT FLOOR PLAN THAT I WANTED ORIGINALLY. IT IS A NICE HOME WITH PLENTY OF SPACE BUT WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR HEART SET ON SOMETHING ELSE IT CAN BE A BIT OF A LET DOWN! IN THE END WE HAD TO GO WITH THE BEST DEAL AND WHAT WE COULD AFFORD! HA! THAT'S THE WAY IT ALWAYS GOES, RIGHT? JUST WISH US LUCK AND PRAY THAT LEON AND I DON'T KILL EACHOTHER IN THIS MOVING PROCESS!!! HA!
OH YEAH, IT WILL BE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE WE CAN MOVE THE HOME ONTO OUR PROPERTY! PRAY THAT THE ZONING COMMITTEE WILL ALLOW US TO MOVE IT A LITTLE SOONER!!!

Grayson in Puppy Prison

While babysitting my nephew last week he decided he wanted to go into the cage with Annie. He just loved it in there and thought it was so funny that he was sitting right next to Annie. I literally had to pull him out! Annie thought she was in so much trouble! It was really funny!

Senior Night

Jared had a great game thursday night against the Rose Hill Panthers. It was senior night for the 7th graders where he was recognized with his parents. His mom and dad escorted him out onto the basketball court. After the presentation Jared played a great game where his team the Ewing Panthers won 46 to 34, at least I think that was the finaly score! Either way they won and it was a really great game! Way to go Jared! They are currently in first place for the regular season so now they will begin to play in the tournaments for number one!

To the Martin Family

We give sympathy to my Great Uncle Lawrence's family. He passed away sat. at the age of 86. He was the last sibling of my Papaw Martin.
