Bass Pro Shop

During our visit to Pigeon Forge to watch Taylor play baseball we stopped off at the Bass Pro Shop. Of course all Tamra and I had to do was take pictures and drink some Frappacino at Starbucks in the store. Here Tamra poses in front of different displays at Bass Pro. It was really a huge place! You can't tell exactly what is behind her in the last picture but it is a huge aquarium with lots of big fish. The second picture is the waterfall coming from the second floor into the aquarium. It was really pretty!

Jared

Here's Jared during his track meet at Lee High. He is running in the 4x4 relay. They came in a close second to Pennington Middle. Jared ran the third leg and really caught the team up to the second place! He done a really great job! Later on her ran the 200 and overall I think he came in second. He also does the high jump and long jump. I'm not sure what he placed because I was at Tay's baseball game. I didn't make it to the track meet till after the game.

I caught Tay and Jared passing the ball in the yard. Don't they get enough during the week? Jared wears a VT sweatshirt but only as a fan. This picture was taken before the tragedy at VT.

Jared

I picked Jared up last week after his baseball practice. During practice I decided to get a couple of pictures of him in action. With both Taylor and Jared playing baseball at the same time we find it hard to get to any of Jared's games. This was the first time we have seen him do anything with baseball so I thought I would take the opportunity to get his picture. Here he is the catcher but he also is the pitcher for his team. I think he also plays short stop at certain times as well.

Virginia Tech Tragedy!

My heart goes out to anyone who was affected by this terrible tragedy yesterday at VT. What a horrible day!

Baseball Trip to Dandridge, Tn

Our motel in the back. The one that looks yellow. That was the Holiday Inn Express where Tay's team stayed as well as me, Leon, and Tamra.

Tay's baseball team headed to Dandridge, Tn last tuesday for three days and two nights. This was Taylor's team trip. I think he had a really good time. I stayed one night and two days and we ended up staying in the same motel. It wasn't planned that way originally but because of certain circumstances the Varsity Coach moved the team to my motel! HA! It worked out to my benefit by saving me some money! I was happy about that!
The first night the boys played their games and then headed to the Bass Pro Shop and then onto the Outlet Malls in Pigeon Forge. The second day they hung out at the motel till time for them to play. The Varsity was able to play their game but because of a thunderstorm JV's game was cancelled. Afterwards they headed to the Tenn Smokes Baseball game which ended up being called on acccount of rain. (They were given rainchecks) The third day they hung out at the motel again and then practiced some before their game. After losing their game they headed on their trip home. Everyone arrived home safely and tired! Tay fell asleep while watching t.v. He was worn out!
I'm thankful he had a good time and a safe trip.

Tamra and Cassie were doing something here but they weren't fighting! HA! But the picture sure does make it look differently! They had a good time bowling but after a couple of games they were tired. Taylor and I played two more games against one another and he beat me! He is ready to play again so he can beat me again! HA! Didn't win by much though!! I did win the first games. HA!

Even though the weather was chilly on Easter the girls were still able to enjoy their time outside. They hid Easter eggs and played with Cassie's bubbles she had received from the Easter Bunny.

Easter Morning

I got pictures of the girls while they were going through their Easter baskets sunday morning. They were very excited to see what the Easter bunny had brought them.

SNOW!!

Lastnight it started to snow around eight or nine o'clock. This morning it was really pretty but not enough to stay put! The sun is out and the snow is disappearing very quickly! I can't believe four days ago it was 83* here and now it is 28*!! HA! What an Easter! The kids will be freezing their butts off hunting eggs! I have my cousin Alice's daughter, Cassie with me right now and we are suppose to go to a church to easter egg hunt. We need to call and make sure they are still doing it. They usually do other things with the kids as well inside so I am sure they will still have it. RIght now we are waiting for the eggs to boil so we can color some eggs. I figured it would give them something to do to keep them from getting bored. Aunt Dorothy went to the hospital to spend time with Mamaw. I have yet to go but hopefully sometime today I will get too. For those that don't know she was put into the hospital yesterday for an infection in her eye. There is a big name for it but I didn't write it down so I can't remember....something like Orthosephlitis. The doctor decided to admit her and keep her until monday in order for them to run an IV antibiotic and lance the area of her eye where the infection is. We were told in the past that she has 'dry eye' but now they think it might be something else. I tried to get Mamaw to go to the doctor thursday but she felt it was alright and refused to go because Dorothy was coming in. Luckily Dorothy did come in to go on their trip to Hillsville! The eye was actually worse by the time she got here and on friday mamaw was feeling so bad she was willing to go to the doctor with Dorothy! THings work out so well sometimes. So, Dorothy is here with her grandaughter and will be staying I am sure until Mamaw is better. Uncle Louie is on his way here to be with Mamaw as well. We were told this eye infection could be deadly if not taken care of so it has been a scary thing for all of us. Please keep Mamaw and our family in your prayers.

Late Night

The kids didn't have to go to school on Tuesday so after Jared and Taylor both finished up their baseball games they decided to play a little pool for the rest of the night! This is Tay's pool table from his dad's house. Now the 'game room' is official.
